Summer 

Children to create flowers, and summer pictures.

African Day w/c 14th all week 

Dress up in something African, carry out various activities throughout the week, have African themed food.

Eid al-Adha (31st August – 1st September)

Create some lanterns.

September

Open Day (9th)

Please join us for our open day – Saturday 9th September 10am – 2pm.

Roald Dahl Day (13th)

Talk about the books that Roald Dahl has written and talk about the characters. Colour some pictures related to the books.

Peace Day (21st) 

Carry out activities that relate to peace in the world.

Harvest Festival ( end of Sept beginning of Oct) 

Ask children and staff to contribute a tin or fruit to make up a basket for the local church. Carry out some baking of bread and other activities.

October

Grandparents Day (1st) 

Come into nursery and enjoy a play and stay session with your grandchild. (Please book your place) Friday 29th Sept 2.30pm – 3.30pm

World Animal Day (4th) 

Colour and create different animals.

Autumn (9th – 13th) 

Create and discuss Autumn weather, animals ect.

Achievement evening (9th)

Book a time slot you’re your child’s keyperson.

Diwali Celebration (19th) The Hindu festival of lights) 

Decorate nursery in bright colours. Create pictures using coloured sand. Make paper lanterns

Photographer (20th) TBC?

If this is on a day that your child doesn’t attend. We will set a time for those people to attend with their child.

Halloween (31st) 

Dress up and make a pumpkin, many other activities. Pumpkin competition on Tuesday 31st October.

November

Bonfire Night (3rd) 

Create firework pictures.

Road Safety week – Beep, Beep week DTBC 

Children to gather sponsors to raise money for road safety charity. Lisa to download resources from website.  Invited a lollypop person to come along and speak to the children.

Thanksgiving (23rd) 

Children and staff to dress up and contribute a £1

December
